The work is performed in multi-disciplinary agile teams with specialists in software/system/test engineering and functional design.
About the assignment Robocode is a platform where players can code their own robots and use these to battle the robots made by other players. Within Thales we made a customized version for Naval called Naval Robocode.
Our version uses ships as core for the robots on which players can add a selection of radars and weapons to battle other ships. Naval Robocode does everything in the browser for the players; building the ship, programing the logic, and playing the matches. Only the gamehost has a separate application to control the matches.
For this assignment we want to update Robocode to a new version and/or upgrade Naval Robocode with new features. Optionally it is possible to look at creating a new client interface with for example using Unity or Godot. If all upgrades and updates go as planned the goal is to host a tournament at the end of the internship as well. If you have any additional ideas, features, or upgrades they are greatly appreciated as well!
