BNY Mellon's IMPACT EMEA Celebrates Black History Month

Led by BNY Mellon’s EMEA multi-cultural network (IMPACT EMEA), we hosted a series of month-long events – including an employee cook-along and a cross-border panel discussion with our women’s network and community outreach events.

This year’s theme for Black History Month in the UK, “Celebrating our Sisters, Saluting our Sisters, and Honouring Matriarchs of Movements”, enabled us to highlight the role women have played in shaping Black History and inspiring change.

The IMPACT EMEA network has played a pivotal role in orchestrating month-long events that engage and unite employees. These events have encompassed a wide range of activities, such as an employee cook-along, cross-border panel discussions, and community outreach programs, serving as a platform for employees to connect, share experiences, and celebrate their unique cultural identities while fostering a sense of unity within the company.

This year’s marquee event welcomed clients and strategic collaborators to our London office for a cross-industry panel. The evening was opened by Dan Watkins (Head of Markets EMEA, Chair of EMEA Executive Committee & Executive Sponsor of IMPACT EMEA) and moderated by Claire R. (Senior Director, Head of Technology & Innovation Legal).
Senior leaders from BlackRock, Fidelity International, J.P. Morgan and PwC UK, shared what individuals, allies and organizations can do to engage, empower and promote Black talent.
