Learning & Development at Bristol SU

Learning and Development is an intrinsic part of how we work at Bristol SU.  We offer regular opportunities for colleagues to learn in ways that feel useful, supportive, and relevant to their roles. Our approach focuses on a blend of training that is practical, future focused, and shaped by what our employees need. 

Our L&D offer is broad, with plenty of ways to get involved. This includes:

• Central Induction and induction modules to introduce you to Bristol SU
• Essential safeguarding training reflecting our responsibility to support staff and students
• Role specific training tailored to each team's area of work
• Full training and support on all areas of Equality, Diversity and Inclusion
• Monthly organisation-wide sessions for shared learning and updates
• Lunch and Learn sessions for relaxed, optional learning about each other’s interests and expertise
• An annual Away Day focused on our key organisational priorities, team-building and our progress with the Bristol SU strategy
• Sector conferences to keep colleagues connected to new ideas and innovation
• Health and Safety training as needed, including Fire Warden, First Aid, and IOSH
