Welcome to VERCIDA website.
Skip to main contentWe celebrate and support equality at Tesco, driving female representation to create a gender equal workplace. Equality for all colleagues and everyone has a vital role to play in making this happen.
The network champions gender diversity and promotes a culture of diverse and inclusive thinking. Our aim is to achieve equality for colleagues and for everyone to feel welcome at Tesco. With a focus on women, we continue to build tailored plans that support them personally and professionally, where women feel confident to share their views and articulate how they add value to the business.
We listen to our colleagues and share their stories to inspire others.
We champion and raise awareness of Women's health, tackling taboo subjects and making us all more comfortable talking and sharing our experiences.
Collectively everyone can strive for women's equality. Gender equality is not solely a women's issue, all colleagues can play a role in achieving greater female representation. We welcome women, men and non-binary colleagues who want to inspire positive change, achieving gender equality.
Our Objectives:
The Times Top 50 Employers for Gender Equality 2024
For the fourth consecutive year, we're proud to be included in The Times Top 50 Employers for Gender Equality for 2024. Our Gender Equality Network listens to colleagues with the aim of making Tesco a great place to work. Our inclusion on the list demonstrates our focus and progress towards gender equality.
Tesco are part of the 30% Club, a campaign group of Chairs and CEOs taking action to increase gender diversity on boards and senior management teams.
We have signed up to a PWC led initiative called Tech She Can which aims to encourage women to consider careers in Technology.
At Tesco Bank, we committed under the HM Treasury Women in Finance Charter to have one third female representation at Board, Executive Committee and Direct level by end of 2022. We exceeded this target last year, achieving 41% at Board and 40% female representation at our Executive Committee.
Across the Tesco Group we have signed up to the FTSE Women Leaders voluntary target of 40% female representation at Board, Executive level and their direct reports by 2025.
Tesco was one of the first companies to voluntarily publish gender pay gap data.
Our Everyone's Welcome report including Gender Pay Gap can be found here.
