Armed Forces at Mott MacDonald

Mott MacDonald’s Armed Forces Pathway represents our long‑standing commitment to supporting serving personnel, service leavers, veterans, reservists, cadet force adult volunteers, military spouses, and families as they transition into, grow within, and thrive across our organisation. It is a core part of who we are—not an add‑on—embedded deeply in our culture, values, and approach to inclusive talent development.

What the Pathway Offers

Our Armed Forces Pathway is designed to make the move from military to civilian employment smooth, supportive, and rewarding, giving candidates access to:

  • Ring‑fenced career opportunities created specifically for those transitioning out of the Armed Forces, typically within six months of leaving or up to twelve months post‑service. These span roles such as project managers, civil engineers, cost estimators, planners, and coordinators across locations UK‑wide.
  • Tailored onboarding, mentoring, and career development, ensuring individuals can successfully translate their unique skills—leadership, adaptability, problem solving—into civilian workplace success.
  • Supportive training and professional development pathways that build confidence and long‑term career growth.

Individuals who express interest are added to our Armed Forces Pathway Talent Pool, enabling early notification of suitable roles and ongoing communication from our Pathway team.

Our Commitment to the Armed Forces Community

Mott MacDonald is a proud signatory of the Armed Forces Covenant and holds Gold status in the Defence Employer Recognition Scheme, reflecting our dedication to eliminating disadvantage for those connected to the Armed Forces.

This commitment includes:

  • Flexible policies and benefits that support military families, including paid leave for reservists and free membership to Military Coworking Hubs for eligible employees.
  • A culture that recognises and values military experience, grounded in decades of welcoming veterans and military family members across the business.
