During the summer of 2019 we trained and developed 11 mental health first aiders who were recruited using this advert:
‘When employees enjoy robust physical and mental health, they are happy, engaged, motivated, productive, resilient, less prone to absenteeism and more likely to stay with the organisation for longer.
Our suite of Mental Health First Aid and Self Harm and Suicide Awareness workshops offer a range of resources and solutions for everyone (all colleagues, managers and leaders) enabling instant support for all types of mental health issues at work.
Around 1 in 4 people will experience a mental health episode each year, with 1 in 6 reporting that they have experienced a common mental health problem (such as anxiety or depression) in any given week. Yet only 1 in 8 adults with a mental health condition is currently believed to be receiving the treatment and support they need.
The Learning & Development team have already put in place Mental Health training for our Wellbeing Champions and front line staff, and will continue to provide further opportunities for colleagues to better understand mental health problems and support each other and our customers. In 2020, we're offering more opportunities to attend MHFA and/or Self Harm & Suicide Awareness workshops, so please do keep an eye out for further information.
