Disability Support at Cochrane

We hold Leader status (Level 3) of the Disability Confident Employer scheme.

We have a strong EDIB (equity, diversity, inclusion and belonging) strategy which underpins not only the work of the People & Culture team but also the EDIB Champions – a group led by staff, for staff – where initiatives around our EDIB (including disability) are developed and taken forward.

Within the EDIB Champions, and indeed within our workforce, we have disability role models who freely share their disability with colleagues, talk about lived experiences and have valuable input into aspects of the EDIB agenda.   We encourage the use of Reasonable Adjustment Passports as well as having a raft of external resources in our ‘toolkit’ – accessed by managers and staff alike – to support individuals with disabilities.

As a remote organisation we do not have a physical workspace to adapt, but we do have regular reasonable adjustment conversations through regular 1:1s with line managers, with the People & Culture team or through using Reasonable Adjustment Passports.
