Carers' Community at Sopra Steria
Understanding and responding to the needs of our colleagues is important to us. We set up our Carers’ Community to create a space for people with caring responsibilities to connect with each other. A number of people had been making use of their paid carers’ leave allowance, so we wanted to make sure we had a channel available for emotional support too.

Here are some of the things we do at Sopra Steria to support colleagues who are balancing work with caring for a loved one or friend:
- A carers policy with clear guidance.
- Five paid days of leave.
- Workplace adjustments e.g. flexible working hours, remote working.
- Mental Health First Aiders and Employee Assistance Programme for emotional and wellbeing support, with signposting to external charities and resources.
- Partnership with Lottie – a service for helping you understand, find and fund an elderly loved one’s care.
- An Executive Sponsor for our employee inclusion network to voice the interests of the Carers’ Community at a senior level.
