The Creative Diversity Network recognise that diversity is vital for innovation and creativity and aim to ensure that television continues to represent all parts of British society, both onscreen and within the industry. Their mission is simple and reflects the collaborative nature of the network’s activity: CDN – Taking joint responsibility for action on diversity.

The Creative Diversity Network Diversity Awards are held every two years to reward outstanding quality, creativity and diversity in television that represents all aspects of British society.

Through its awards the Creative Diversity Network recognises all aspects of our diverse society covering age, body image, disability, ethnicity, faith, gender, gender identity, regionality, sexuality and social class. The award categories are designed to acknowledge outstanding work both on and off-screen and serve to showcase exciting breakthrough talent. The Outstanding Contribution award is for an outward facing leader who has foregrounded diversity’s public face.

The award categories are: 

Ground Breaking Programme (Jury 1) 

  • Drama

Change Makers (Jury 2) 

  • Production Company of the Year
  • Commissioner or Channel of the Year 
  • Authors/Creatives: e.g. Writer / Director
  • Onscreen Talent E.g. Presenter / Actor
  • Diversity Champion
  • Outstanding Contribution
