Our Philosophy

By 2051, 1 in 5 Britons will be from ethnic minority backgrounds. In London, the proportion of people from these backgrounds is already around a third, and is likely to hit 40% by 2031.

Of London's university students, over 50% are female, 44% are from an ethnic minority background and 17% are black.

Rare's mission is to help the best employers in the world build workforces of brilliant people that reflect society's diversity.

The majority of our clients have never used outside help in graduate recruitment before, but have chosen to use us because of our proven track record.

Rare was set up in 2005 by Managing Director and founder Raphael Mokades.

Sir David Bell has been Rare's unpaid and non-executive Chairman since the company's foundation. In that time, Rare has grown from a staff of 1 to a team of twenty-three, and from a handful of clients to several dozen: while our scale has changed, our ethos and values remain the same.
