The team's work is predominantly for clients in the financial services sector, advising financial institutions banks on claims by counterparties, corporate and retail customers and on regulatory issues. The Financial Markets and Regulatory Disputes group, within Dentons' wider litigation and arbitration team, which includes four dedicated partners and, has long-standing experience of advising on a wide variety of complex and high-profile cases.
The work provides opportunities for early responsibility, varied work and excellent exposure to clients in a collegiate and supportive environment. Our broad focus means we are familiar with most of the causes of disputes within the financial sector. This equips us to provide swift and concise advice which is commercially and tactically orientated, and can often defuse a difficult situation at an early stage. Where proceedings are inevitable, we have the know-how to deal with the complexities of modern litigation. We are also experts in alternative dispute resolution techniques such as mediation. Our team includes three advocates who regularly appear in court on complex financial markets disputes.
The team comprises four partners, two counsels, six senior associates and six associates. Steven Mills heads the practice in Watford, with fellow partners - Clare Stothard, Kerry Talbot and Jackie Hanlon.
Purpose of role
We are looking for a lawyer with between 2-4PQE. The successful candidate will be engaged to work on a significant existing book of litigation and investigations work for a range of clients.
It is important that the successful candidate is able to communicate clearly with colleagues and clients. The successful candidate will be expected to be able to work independently under supervision of the partners in a strong team environment.
Required experience, skills and attributes Technical Skills (Essential)
- Litigation or financial regulation experience commensurate with PQE (financial services litigation experience not essential
- Ability to work with a degree of independence
- Exceptional legal research ability

Technical Skills (Desirable)
- Knowledge of financial services disputes and/or regulatio
- Experience of working with international clients in the financial services secto
- Experience of preparing and participating in pitches to client
