Job description

JOB PURPOSE/ROLE
At AGCS we specialise in offering Energy insurance for the most complex and challenging exposures. With a focus on larger global risk portfolios and major national risks, we offer ‘All Risks’ Property Damage, Control of Well, Third Party Liability, Business Interruption, Offshore Construction, and Decommissioning insurance through our global network.

Based in London as part of the Energy and Construction team, you will work closely with clients and brokers to develop personalized solutions, as well as developing new relationships. You will be responsible for underwriting profitable new and renewal business to meet Upstream Energy targets regionally, including global elements. Your responsibilities will also include negotiating participation, pricing and terms & conditions, supporting the acquisition of new business and retaining existing business.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
In this role you will.....
•Underwrite and evaluate Upstream Energy exposures, contributing to the profitable growth of the book
•Identify and deliver on cross-sell opportunities within Energy & Construction, with broader AGCS business lines and Allianz group companies
•Actively drive involvement of functional areas in the Underwriting process, including Market Management, Risk Consulting, Claims, and Operations etc.
•Develop broker relationships and attend client meetings to market our offering and value proposition


KEY REQUIREMENTS/SKILLS/EXPERIENCE
•You have at least 5 years’ experience underwriting profitable business in the Upstream Energy segment
•Ideally you are CII qualified or equivalent or working towards it
•You have recognized relationships with clients and brokers at peer group level and are well established within your reference market
•You have a specialized understanding of regional / national Upstream Energy insurance markets and the competitor landscape
•You are able to negotiate effectively achieving the best outcome for your portfolio while maintaining positive business relationships with your clients and brokers
•You are capable of leveraging data and analytics to make business more efficient and effective
•You have a good understanding of the legal and regulatory framework
•You can design, develop and implement consistent, robust wordings for contracts.
