We are looking for a dynamic experienced manager, detail-oriented, organized self-starter to join as a Transportation Manager for the Middle Mile team to lead a team of Business Coaches who manage Linehaul Service Provider (LSP) relationships and ensure they are set up to succeed. This person will develop the team defining the strategy to handle the relationship with LSP. We are seeking bar-raising candidates who are able to: • Provide best in class support for LSPs with scalable tracking process • Partner with cross functional stakeholders to drive a culture of professional service • Identify, develop and improve strategies for the LSP onboarding and training process • Identify and drive process improvements that enhance the LSP service and technology • Provide reports to leaders of health and training proficiency weekly/monthly (using Excel, Access, SQL and/or other data management systems) The ideal candidate is customer obsessed, highly organized, works effectively with internal and external contacts, has the ability to shift gears at a moment's notice and enjoys the challenges of developing and improving processes in a dynamic organization. The successful candidate will also have exceptional written and verbal communication skills, superior attention to detail, and the ability to prioritize in a fast-paced environment. Moreover, the ability to work in dynamic and ambiguous areas is imperative. Operational knowledge of wide variety of and contractual concepts is essential to perform the role successfully.
The ideal candidate has 7+ years of experience in account management, vendor management and/or supplier management within a cross-functional organization. • 4+ years of direct management experience, including a salaried workforce, in a manufacturing, production or distribution environment. • Strong oral and written communication skills are crucial, as well as ability to think clearly, analyze quantitatively, and problem-solve • Sound business judgment, and proven ability to influence others • An entrepreneurial mindset, with the tenacity to develop ideas independently and thrive in fast-paced environment • Demonstrated strong leadership skills when confronted with difficult situations exhibiting ability to keep the team focused and motivated • Experience as a transportation customer as well as a transportation provider • A bachelor's degree (or equivalent) is required • Fluency in English is required • Approximately 25% to 35% travel on average depending on business projects
• MBA • Strong negotiation skills • Demonstrable problem-solving, mathematics and analytical skills using data to drive decisions in a business environment • Track record of delivering results, setting strategy, and running a large volume and high profile business • Ability to interface with all levels of the organization, specific strength in setting and managing expectations • Advanced Excel skills is preferred • Fluency in German, French, Polish, or other European languages
