Job description



The Willis Re Latin America & Caribbean Team is looking to recruit a Spanish speaker to a Technical Broking Support role. The ideal candidate will be fluent in Spanish and English and have a good level of experience in the insurance industry.

The Role




Responsible for leading all broking support activities on assigned accounts or territories - to ensure compliance, efficiency and delivery of excellent service to our clients.

Maintain a good understanding of business requirements (for both internal and external stakeholders), Group policy / procedures and the placement process. The role will require effective query resolution, organisation and supervision of work.

Engage fully with the placing team brokers, with additional contact with clients, reinsurers and the client service team (where needed).

Principal Responsibilities :

Client Relationship Management
  • Understand the Client's business and their reinsurance programmes, continually working with the placing team to fully understand any specific client requirements
  • Participate in renewal planning, anticipating and preventing possible issues before they occur
  • Manage and coordinate workflow around seasonal renewals for assigned accounts
  • Manage and resolve queries from brokers, clients and reinsurers
  • Strive to improve the overall client relationship - supervising the delivery of reliable, high-quality and timely billing and administrative support
  • Has a lead role in the review, formatting and preparation of Contract Wordings and Endorsements
  • Responsible for ensuring all post placement documentation is produced accurately, checked and delivered to the client in a timely manner.
  • Coordinate adherence to WEM requirements and controls in dealing with our clients, the market and third parties.
  • Assist with new Client 'on-boarding' and monitoring of prospects / opportunities
  • Involvement in the organisation and preparation of 'submission packs' to reinsurers. Obtain and handle quotes.
  • Manage the recording and conclusion of all reinsurer subjectivities and conditions, escalating where appropriate.
  • Assist in obtaining translations
  • Maintain a good level of understanding for geographical or client specific issues - such as Tax, Regulations or Currency.
  • Build and demonstrate use of a network, to resolve queries, gain knowledge and deal with unusual or complex business opportunities
  • Assist team with 'back-up' broking where needed, such as line collection, endorsement broking etc.
  • Undertake travel as required to Clients, Reinsurers and/or other Willis offices and attend relevant meetings, ensure meeting notes and follow up actions are completed

Business Unit
  • Develop and maintain close working relationships with Brokers & Account Executives
  • Act as the primary point of contact to Brokers, supervising all support matters
  • Establish what key elements of support the broker (or client) requires and values
  • Look for innovation and improvements - strive to do more and be more, continually looking for areas where improvements can be achieved
  • Look to use reporting tools to offer clear, accurate, timely and relevant material including MI as required by the placing and operations teams
  • Participate, as appropriate, in Placement Support meetings
  • Take a lead role in adherence with Compliance, Legal requirements, industry regulations, organisational policies and Willis Re best practice and professional codes

Associates
  • Works proactively with peer group and team members to share knowledge to achieve the best results for the clients
  • In conjunction with Line Manager, motivate and develop the skills and competencies of the team members in line with Willis HR policies and procedures, ensure any team skills and knowledge gaps are met with appropriate training to fulfil the requirements of the business and providing input to performance reviews and objective setting.
  • Has a lead role in coordinating with contract drafters to ensure wording provisions meet servicing requirements


The Requirements



  • Fluency in Spanish & English
  • Educated to A level standard or relevant industry experience as a minimum according to the role
  • A good knowledge of the industry in order to address client and technical issues
  • Technical knowledge of Reinsurance business, Compliance Policy and servicing functions essential for area of responsibility
