We also focus on additional specialty classes such as transport, political risk, crisis management, kidnap and ransom, contingency, property and treaty reinsurance.
The Reserving team sit within the Actuarial and Analytics function, headed up by the Chief Actuary and are responsible for calculating the reserves (ultimate, earned and technical provisions) on a quarterly basis, and parameterises the reserve risk component of the internal model. The team are highly collaborative, promote and encourage discussions around improvements and efficiencies.
The role of the Reserving Analyst is offered on a 12 month fixed term contract basis to cover maternity leave and will sit within the Reserving team and responsibilities will consist of the following:-
- To attend committee meetings as required.
- To assist with the provision of Management Information.
- Undertake an appropriate level of analysis to support business decisions and provide additional insight to the business.
- To help identify and implement improvements and enhancement in processes and models.
- To assist with internal and external reporting.
- To conduct the parameterisation of the Reserve Risk element of the capital model.
- As part of the Talbot Data Governance framework you may be expected to perform the duties of the following roles: - Master Data Source Owner, DataSource Owner, Data Journey Owner, Data Control Owner, Data Control Reviewer.

As a Reserving Analyst your skills and qualifications will include:
- Actuarial experience in the Lloyd's or London Market
- Experience in parameterising certain inputs into the Internal Model
- Partially qualified actuary
- Science or Maths degree (minimum 2:1)
- A Level Maths
