Purpose of Role

Claims Operations and Delegated Authority Technician :

Provide Operational and analytical support to the Claims Department. Be a champion of change, proactively identifying opportunities for process improvement and assisting and supporting team to meet departmental objectives.

To provide the Claims Department with operational and technical DA support, ensuring that Delegated Authorities are handled in line with Lloyds Minimum Standards and Talbot's internal framework.

Responsibilities

Claims Operations Technician:
  • Assisting Claims Operations Manager with internal and external stakeholder enquiries;
  • Provide operational / administrative support to the Claims Department;
  • Identify process efficiencies, working with the wider Claims Operations team to carry out problem solving activities and promote process improvement initiatives;
  • Assist with monitoring and reporting on departmental KPI's;
  • Monitor Lloyd's Claims Measures, working proactively with Claims Operations Team to take remedial measures where required;
  • Assist with the management of Talbot's VCS claims;
  • Assist with budget management of outsourcing arrangements;
  • Respond to Lloyds CAT returns;
  • Competently analyse data;
  • Maintain and ensure timely reporting for various Board / internal committees, as well as daily/weekly/monthly Claims reports for HoC and wider team;
  • Play a key role in driving and promoting best practice across the Claims Department;
  • Managing external audits of Claims Department;
  • Be technically competent in Talbot's Claims System (Docosoft) providing technical support to the Claims Department and supporting Claims Operations Manager in managing the system including upgrades and enhancements;
  • Attend internal and external committees as appropriate, sharing knowledge with wider department.


Claims Delegated Authority Specialist :
  • Handle the on-boarding and renewal of new TPA's and Coverholder's;
  • Review and maintain due-diligence submissions of all DCA's;
  • All contract/clause to be reviewed and issued for both TPA and Coverholder;
  • Work with relevant Claims Adjuster to determine appropriate claims authority level for DCA;
  • Ensure both TPA's and Coverholder's meet SLA's, KPI's and monitor performance (to include discussions on good or negative indicators);
  • Coordinate TPA audits and performance reviews, utilising AiMS where possible;
  • Manage audit tracker, including audit outcomes and budget;
  • Liaise with Claims Team on TPA and Coverholder audits;
  • Provide DA Operational input for audits of TPA's and Coverholders;
  • Prepare reports for submission at internal CCMG committee;
  • Manage and maintain TPA panel;
  • Ensure all records of TPA and Coverholders are up to date and maintained - to apply for each YoA and any New Business;
  • Be responsive to market initiatives; working with wider Claims Operations Team to embed and identify process changes;
  • Assist with any DA / Conduct Risk regulatory returns;
  • Manage bordereaux submissions via DA SATS;
  • Assist with loss fund management.


Person Specification

Experience
  • Will have an operational background and a keenness to expand this further;
  • Will have experience of having managed Claims DA within a Lloyd's Managing Agent/London market company;
  • Experience in initiating and implementing change;
  • Full working knowledge of ECF including ECF Writeback;
  • Involvement in market groups preferred;
  • Will be up to date on market initiatives and strategies with a keenness to embrace.


Qualifications
  • Qualified or studying towards ACII

  • Competent and confident with data (interpretation, quality, control and display)
  • Good working use of Lloyds' CRS
  • Technically minded - Confident with (back end) systems / applications
  • Competent in SQL would be an advantage
  • Excellent time-keeping
