The service sits within our West of England team covering dispersed accommodation for single homeless men through Bristol Pathways and supported family supported housing across Bristol, South Gloucester We are a friendly yet professional team of people with a range of support experience. We are very proud or our work and helping people is at the heart of everything we do.
You'll be working to help support vulnerable, diverse and sometimes challenging clients on a 1:1 basis in their homes and on occasions delivering support in group situations. You will benefit from regular supervision and team meetings so that you are able to network and exchange ideas with colleagues. There's a space in our team… are you the right person to fill it?
Your role will consist of providing floating support to individuals, families, couples and who are threatened with homelessness or who need additional support to enable them to sustain their tenancy in the Bristol and South Gloucestershire area. Your working week will also consist of supporting individuals in temporary accommodation and the Pathway, to move-on into permanent accommodation through Homechoice (local authority housing register) or private rented.
The emphasis is to empower clients to live independently. You will support and advise clients on applying for tenancies, their responsibilities and obligations in sustaining a tenancy, helping to secure accommodation, manage their own finances and engaging with other professionals.
We are looking for 2 Support Workers to join initially on a fixed term basis for a period of up to 12 months. We are looking for people who are motivated to make a positive contribution to the lives of the people we support and a "can do" approach to their work. Are you prepared to go the extra mile to ensure a positive outcome for your clients? Experience in a similar role would be desirable, however what is most important is having a passion for helping people in the local community,
This role will be challenging at times as you will be working with and supporting clients across a range of difficult and challenging issues/behaviors; an attention to detail, using your initiative and problem solving will be key.
This role is being offered on a full time basis, working 37 hours per week. Bandwidth hours will be 8.00 am to 6.00 pm.

To be considered for the role of Support Worker you will:
