Learning Development sits within the Centre for Research Informed Teaching. The team exists to help our students to develop the strategies and practices they need to progress and succeed at University and into their professional lives. LSBU is proud of the diversity of its students, who come from a very wide range of educational backgrounds, and is committed to ensuring that they all reach their potential.
The Study Skills Assistant (SSA) Maths post is vital in the support of our students. The SSAs work predominantly in the Skills for Learning Centre, providing face-to-face and online support to students in a 1-2-1 or small group setting. They also work with the Learning Development Advisors to deliver sessions to larger groups of students.
The post is permanent, Part Time. 0.5 FTE to be condensed to Term-Time only.
The post will require some evening and/or weekend work and the delivery of some sessions at the Havering campus.
Recent experience working in higher education and an understanding of the challenges faced by a diverse student body would be beneficial.
