The Role

*Please note that this opportunity is only open to individuals who will be studying at of York St John University during the 2019/20 academic year*

£8.56 per hour plus holiday entitlement

Casual worker contract

The Student Recruitment team are seeking new Student Ambassadors to represent the University at internal and external events, working as part of a team and individually. Student Ambassadors inform prospective students about York St John University, the ‘student experience' and ensure that visitors to the University receive a high quality and enjoyable experience. You will be a York St John University student during the 2019/20 academic year, with a passion for York St John University, higher education and working with young people. You will work with under represented and disadvantaged groups, on a range of Widening Participation projects.

Candidates need:
  • Some understanding of the barriers young people may face in accessing Higher Education
  • An interest in working with young people to aspire and encourage them in their educational journey
  • Experience of delivering presentations
  • An understanding of Child Protection
  • Strong communication skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Enthusiasm for promoting York St John
