We are looking for a Sr Manager, Program Management to join our team. The position is located in London or Luxembourg.
As an integral part of the Amazon Transportation Services (ATS) team, the Sr Manager, Program Management is responsible for the scoping and execution of organizational development. The successful candidate will be responsible for understanding the overall EU Transportation strategy, being accountable for strategic imperatives and continually identifying operational, service, and process improvements in relation to customer experience enhancement in a cost effective environment. The ATS team works with Amazon's FCs, Sort Centers, Delivery Stations, Supply Chain, Customer Service, Retail and Finance teams and externally with service providers, offering business and logistics expertise to ensure optimal delivery of service solutions. This role will also enjoy cross regional and international exposure.
Responsibilities: • Manage existing domestic and international line haul connections to the highest degree of cost effectiveness and reliability. • Manage a team of Specialists and Program Managers, operating 24/7 across multiple geographies • Develop emerging organizations in specialist transportation fields • Manage the business relationships with carriers spanning resolution of operational issues to supporting commercial and contractual negotiations. • Cross-functional work with the Supply Chain, Warehouses and the Retail organizations to determine future demand for Transportation resources. Translate the aforementioned into accurate capacity plans. • Ensure up to date and accurate statistics, management reports and analysis are available and maintained. • Work across the EU in a cross-functional environment. • Interfaces and coordinates activity with Operations Managers and Process Operations Managers to develop and manage change. • Liaison and collaboration with external partners
• Experience in international Logistics/Supply Chain operations • Assist in enhancing competitive advantage/ customer experience where they relate to Transportation • Good understanding of Transportation Logistics network management and Customer Service • Be the catalyst of change rather than maintain the status quo and to bring about change via relationship management skills rather than merely through technical excellence. • Understanding of analytical simulations and assessments. • Planning and Organizing: Able to evaluate priorities appropriately; apt at resolving conflict and able communicates intentions clearly; delivering within time constraints. • Strong inter-personal and relationship-building skills. • Decision Making/ Problem Solving- Proactively gathers the right data from appropriate sources, probes/considers all of the facts, takes into account other perspectives; conducts root cause. • Presentation skills; excellent written & well-polished verbal communication skills; presence and ability to think on his/ her feet • In-depth knowledge of operating and analysis tools; solution driven approach to system and process; advanced computer literacy (Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Word); Data-warehouse analysis • Fluent in English • Post Graduate Programme (PGP) qualification or equivalent in Management of Operations/Logistics • High dependability and ownership - be prepared to roll his/her sleeves up, if necessary • Must be flexible and able to manage a business that can operate 24/7 (including holidays) and commit the time required to get the job done. • Demonstrates an ability to manage, motivate, and influence employees and partners
• Strong Supply Chain and Logistics background • Master's level degree, MBA or higher preferred • Experience of SQL and data-driven decision making skills • 10+ years within fast moving international companies renowned for their state-of-the-art Supply Chain and Logistics practice such as distribution, retail, as well as any other state of the art Supply Chain/Logistics industrial company. • A first leadership positions in the Supply Chain or Transportation function • Demonstrated experience of successfully driving complex, milestone driven projects and carrying out changes across multi-country entities, having a proven track record in improving the Supply Chain, having designed advanced Supply Chain processes, implemented state-of-the-art Supply Chain/Logistics tools • Demonstrated experience of having worked in very international environments
