Amazon Robotics is seeking a uniquely talented, highly motivated and strong technical leader to manage the international team and drive multiple initiatives to lead our International Growth and Expansion in Europe and Japan. The team is comprised of technical product managers to help define and deploy innovative solutions to solve complex and ambiguous problems.
The ideal candidate is a creative, demonstrated leader/manager with superior analytical abilities with experience managing people and complex stakeholders. The candidate will have operational and technical consulting experience, people, program, project, or product management skills, as well as excellent listening, communication, and facilitation skills. This position will be responsible for strategic planning, financial analysis, feature definition and specification, and resource scoping and commitments for multiple products and programs.
This position involves regular communication with senior management on definition, progress, risks and change control. Ability to lead extended cross-discipline virtual teams as well as project management and executive presentation skills are essential. Additionally, we expect that our technical leaders have a good customer focus and have the ability to operate in a product role if required.
This job will require a unique combination of energy, flexibility, creativity, innovation, leadership skills, and proactive management. It also requires travel, up to 25% of overall time, to locations across Europe and to the corporate offices in Boston and Seattle.
The International Growth Product Manager, Technical will be responsible for: • Business Strategy: Explore and define the Amazon Robotics organization strategy for designing, manufacturing, deploying, maintenance and continuous improvement of international Amazon Robotics Fulfillment and Sort Centers. • Management: Leading and managing the technical delivery team for international markets • Leadership: Serve as the leadership point of contact for AR satellite teams based in the EU and Japan. • Product Management: Gather international region specific requirements and work with the AR Product Management group to prioritize these requirements into the delivery roadmap. • New Product Introduction: Working with the NA Product Launch team, manage new product introduction into International markets. • Voice of Customer: Serve as the Voice of the Customer for the product line throughout the product life cycle from initial concept creation to launch, and subsequent support of the product. Constantly engage with the customers to drive changes and remove operational bottlenecks. • Change Management: Design and implement the change management strategy for international Fulfillment Centres (FCs). Partner with the VP and Senior Ops Directors to manage change and new product introduction across the international FC network. • Performance: Partner with the senior Amazon leaders to drive best practices for managing international AR FCs and SCs and bridge the performance gap across them. • Hiring: Execute on the hiring plan and build a world-class team. • Executive Presence: Serve as AR's ambassador and key contact for the senior leadership teams across the various Amazon organizations in Europe.
The ideal candidate will also have the following qualifications: • MBA or MS in Engineering, Management or a related technical field supplemented with program management skills • Undergraduate Engineering degree • 7+ years of experience in the robotics, tech or order fulfilment. • 5+ years of experience in hiring, growing and restructuring technical teams. • Familiarity with databases (SQL), data analysis/statistical tools (Excel, R, Python/Pandas), and scripting language (Bash or Python) • Experience analysing and visualizing complex data sets. • Ability to travel for more than 50% of the time
