The Governance and Business Improvement team supports and facilitates the end to end processes and procedures of the Investments directorate. Key activities of our team include supporting system development, analysing business implications of changes to policy, maintaining guidance documents, implementing improvement projects and control activities, and ensuring effective risk management as the first line of defence.

We have two positions available within the Governance and Compliance sub-team which provide an exciting opportunity for individuals with excellent communication and networking skills to contribute towards enhancing the control environment for the Investments directorate. Successful candidates will be able to demonstrate a detailed understanding of investment operations and ideally will bring with them knowledge and experience of effective risk management, governance and compliance activities.

Essential: Degree level qualification or equivalent experience

• Experience of delivering effective risk management, governance and/or compliance practices;
• Ability to demonstrate a sound understanding of relevant technical and commercial issues including development finance;

• Ability to demonstrate a sound understanding of relevant technical and commercial issues including risk management and development finance;
• Experience of producing reports and presentable content for risk and/or governance committees;
• Excellent communication and networking and influencing skills;
• Experience of the provision of guidance and training materials, to both technical and non-specialist colleagues;
• Ability to review systems, processes, controls and ways of working with a risk based approach;
• Ability to work to tight deadlines;
• Team player; and
• Flexibility - ability to adapt to a constantly changing environment.

All appointments are on Homes England terms and conditions. Full time hours for this post are 35 hours per week; alternative flexible working arrangements would be considered.

Please note - Homes England has a responsibility to ensure compliance with HMG Baseline Personnel Security Standard to address the potential problems of identity fraud, illegal working and deception generally. Should an appointment be made to a London base location a London Allowance of £3,883 will be paid per annum.
