Job description

The Role

Our software development group has locations in Great Britain, Germany, Portugal and the Philippines, designing, developing and maintaining a suite of internal, client and member-facing software predominantly for use in the EMEA and Asia-Pacific region.

As a core member of one of our software development teams, you will play a key role in ensuring the quality of our group's software application releases. This highly technical role requires excellent manual testing skills to carry out user acceptance and systems testing of modern applications software for both functionality and usability. You must possess the drive to deliver high quality software to tight deadlines and the ability to stay focused whilst repeating testing in a dynamic software environment. You will work as part of a small Agile development team and be required to take ownership of the testing phases as well as participate in planning sessions for future enhancements.

The Requirements

  • Manual testing experience and demonstrable knowledge of analysis, creation and execution of test cases within an Agile (SCRUM) project
  • A proven track record in the testing of web-based applications, client server systems and Microsoft SQL environments
  • Significant experience of testing user interfaces, business logic and batch processes
  • Experienced in providing support to developers for test case debugging, execution tracing and coverage analysis
  • Experience and knowledge of the Microsoft Toolsets and environments (Visual Studio, Team Foundation Server, Test Manager, SharePoint) Experience with issue tracking management and resolution
  • Enthusiastic and motivated team player
  • A basic understanding of software automation with a view to developing this further later in your career
  • Hold a minimum of ISEB/ISTQB foundation certificate in Software Testing.
