Due to continued success, we're growing our team with an experienced and enthusiastic Software Engineer. As a Software Engineer, you'll be joining a prod-eng team made up of 6 worlds: Merchandising, Orders, Operations, Platform, In-Life and Production. These worlds contain several cross-functional teams, that offer autonomy and progression for Software Engineers coming into the business.
Upon joining, you will spend your first month getting to know our current set-up and the challenges we face, while also taking part in an intensive bootcamp to immerse you in our product, values, and the engineering standards we follow.
Your role will then be focused on delivering a host of new features and functionality that will continue to enhance our customer experience, while improving the overall efficiency and effectiveness of our core systems.
You will play a key role in a number of our exciting new projects, which will include building a brand-new orders system with a self-service checkout or building our new planning and delivery system. What You'll Be Doing
With each world made up of multiple cross-functional teams, we currently need a number of engineers to join our Orders world.
The orders world own the customer journey from finding the right car, through to home delivery. This includes the checkout experience, financing the car, adding extras, exchanging their old car and managing their order.
You'll be supporting the development of our customer proposition, building high-end software to support a rapidly growing business, and deliver an amazing experience to our customers.
Cazoo embraces modern coding practices such as TDD, Clean Code, XP, DevOps and Software Craftsmanship including pair programming and a "you build it, you run it" mindset. You will support the building of a culture of engineering excellence, through coaching and mentoring other engineers in your team as well as furthering your own personal development.

We are primarily looking for software engineers to join our teams who are humble, customer-centric who enjoying being part of a collaborative team.
- An appetite for developing your experience around application design and architectural decisions-making.
- You have extensive experience with modern software development practices such as TDD, CI/CD and a DevSecOps mindset.
- You are comfortable moving between front-end and back-end technologies, even if one of these domains is not your core expertise.
- You can take on constructive feedback and put this into action, with plenty of support from senior team members and the wider business.

Following an initial phone chat with our talent team to discuss your ambitions and if Cazoo is the right fit, we then have a three stage process. This comprises of a Pair Programming Session (90mins), a Tech Deep Dive (60mins) and Values interview (60mins).
We then aim to give a decision within 24 hours of the final step.
