Experian are currently recruiting for a Software Development and Capability Manager, this is a requirement to support the transformation our solutions software development function to ensure that Experian can continue to enhance our digital environment and capability.
To drive Capability and People Management within Software Development and to lead the Communities of Practice for Software Development
Provide Systems knowledge to the technical team to ensure that the solution meets the business requirements. Champions best practice in design and development Provides technical leadership to software and systems professionals. Role models and acts as trusted technical advisor across multiple technology platforms (Mainframe, Windows, Linux etc.) and business area. Continuously driving innovation and modern techniques to support Agile Delivery, including DevOps
Set the vision and drive strategy for development ensuring industry leading frameworks and standards adopted. Sets local / team-based standards for programming tools and techniques, including security guidelines, and the selection of appropriate development methods. Advises on application of standards and methods and ensures compliance. Takes technical responsibility for all stages and/or iterations in a software development project, providing method specific technical advice and guidance to project stakeholders.

Requirements: · Must have strong people management and coaching skills · Strong software development and analysis skills · Experience of supporting a complex technical environment · Significant experience using relevant development technologies · Strong DevOps knowledge · Recognised as a expert in their chosen field of technology · Must have a strong technical awareness across the full development cycle and a pragmatic approach to delivering business needs · Ability to work on complex and/or highly visible tasks with minimal or no supervision · Effective communication style ensuring technical and business stakeholders receive the correct information, clearly explaining solutions to technical and non-technical audiences · Able to deliver technical and business update to medium sized groups of colleagues · Lead by example demonstrating the technical quality and soft skills that are expected of the team · Ability to think creatively and work under pressure with excellent attention to detail · Demonstrate analytical skills assessing product requirements and functional specifications · Actively maintains technical ability and assesses advances in technology for business benefit · Excellent stakeholder management skills · Continuous improvement mindset, proactive in sharing knowledge, skills and experience · Resourceful, demonstrating strong problem solving abilities aimed at delivering business benefit
