Job Introduction
BBC Three makes a range of experimental and innovative content created aimed at 16-34 year olds. Since our launch as an online brand, BBC Three has been a multi award-winning pathfinder for the BBC and the wider industry, experimenting with new and unique ways of telling stories across different content forms and formats and with the means of distributing this content to young audiences in the places they are consuming content.

BBC Three content can be found on iPlayer and BBC One as well as across social platforms. The quality of the content has been recognised by audiences and the industry, winning awards such as RTS Channel of The Year, Broadcast Digital Channel of the Year and BAFTAs for shows like This Country, Killed By My Debt, Fleabag and People Just Do Nothing.

It is committed to developing new talent in front of and behind the camera and finding distinct, diverse new voices representative of the whole of the UK. The ambition is for BBC Three to be braver, more provocative and more of the moment than any other part of the BBC, producing content which is uniquely close to its young audience, honed to their passions, locality and life experiences.

Role Responsibility
The role is an exciting opportunity at a digital channel working outside of linear TV to develop social-first ideas, experiment with formats and build solid social strategies for our content that will reach and engage new audiences. The role will cover BBC Three's collaboration with big BBC Entertainment brands such as Strictly, Dragon's Den and The Apprentice, as well as original BBC Three content.

You will provide essential social support for our BBC Three Birmingham team, working to the Head of Social and Executive Producer.

Working with Content, Marketing & Commissioning teams you will turn programme and marketing briefs into digital/social activations that go above and beyond traditional promotion. This will include creating and implementing social strategies at brand, programme and campaign level.

You will understand how to plan effective optimisation and scheduling for digital content across a range of platforms and be experienced in devising digital strategy for social accounts.

Are you the right candidate?
We are looking for someone with a strong record of creative achievement and innovation, highly experienced in producing and publishing engaging social content in line with brand identity and tone to increase reach and build core audience.

You'll be a highly experienced Social Media Executive, self-motivated and able to manage multiple deadlines and priorities with at least 3 years' experience in digital publishing or working for a digital agency.

You'll be an excellent communicator with experience of developing relationships with senior stakeholders. You will have previous experience of running successful social media campaigns and accounts, either from scratch or inherited. You will be able to work across the different social media platforms with experience of designing and editing videos which will appeal to our target audience and increase our engagement with the audience.

The ideal candidate will understand AV production and have experience working with production teams for broadcast on digital or linear television platforms. They will be able to edit and use graphics packages to create a wide range of social first content in the form of Gifs, memes, tweets and short form AV. Experience of self-shooting would be an advantage.
