Complex Depression, Anxiety and Trauma  (CDAT) Team

Band 8b - 0.6wte

Team Base St Pancras Hospital

We are looking for a psychologist with excellent clinical, research and communication skills and demonstrated expertise and knowledge of working with people experiencing complex mental health difficulties.

CDAT is a multidisciplinary specialist service providing on-going assessment and treatment for those with complex presentations of depression, anxiety and trauma.  The service provides psychological therapy, medical interventions (medication and TMS) and social care.  We encourage and promote innovation and research.

The primary focus of this position is to directly provide and supervise psychological interventions.  The successful candidate will be proficient in the treatment of conditions such as severe and treatment resistant depression, obsessive compulsive disorder, body dysmorphic disorder, post traumatic stress disorder, agoraphobia and other anxiety and dissociative disorders.

Enthusiasm, personal resilience, confidence and the ability to work flexibly are essential.

There is a strong continuing professional development programme within Camden and Islington and commitment to clinically relevant research. There are close links with UCL and other academic partners as well as training organisations. Trainee clinical psychologists are regularly on placement from the main London based doctoral courses.  CDAT has its own informal weekly in-house education programme which the successful applicant will be invited to contribute to

The existing psychology team has considerable expertise in working psychologically with this client group and we have accredited BABCP therapists.
