Based at Media City, Salford and a key part of the TV&Radio Software Engineering department, our TV Certification Programme is at the heart of our strategy for assuring the quality of our IPTV products (iPlayer, Sport, Red Button+ and News) on connected devices (Smart TV's, Games consoles, IPTV Streamers, and PVR's). We are looking for a Senior QA Engineer with a strong quality assurance and development background, to add to the team.
Working with Certification, you will get to be part of some of our most innovative projects (like helping the BBC to be the first to trial live streaming of the World Cup in 4K) and you will do that hand in hand with our TV partners, such as Amazon, LG, Panasonic, Samsung, Sony and many others.
More importantly however, you will work with these partners daily, helping them get their devices through our certification programme, assuring the quality of the audience experience on those devices and thus contribute to the wider team mission to be the future of BBC television and a goal to double reach and quadruple viewing over the next few years.

What we're looking for:
Continuous integration experience within Agile environments
Demonstrable experience in software development quality assurance.
Device testing experience.
Working knowledge in one or more scripting languages such as Perl, Bash or Python.
Ability to write and execute both automated and manual tests (Functional, Non-Functional, Regression)
Ability to triage issues and do root cause analysis
An added bonus if you have:
Experience in direct interaction with partners or clients, including standards bodies.
Industry experience working on IPTV and embedded devices.
Experience with video streaming technology.
Ability and strong desire to operate in a highly cross-functional environment where you can leverage multiple teams to help our partners be successful.
