About Us
The Claims/Distributed Ledger Technology team is part of the London Market Target Operating Model (TOM). The Claims/DLT team is working with Market sponsors to investigate opportunities for improved efficiencies in the areas of claims and settlement services. Significant opportunities for change are made possible by brokers adopting ACORD messaging for submission and the introduction of new technologies such as distributed ledgers and blockchain in the central service areas. This will enable the refresh of central services that CSRP aspired to, to improve service to customers, increase efficiencies and reduce operating costs for Market entities.
Claims/DLT will commence with a series of prototypes which, if successful, will be progressed to live operation.
(a) Claims/DLT is sponsored by the London Market Group, which itself is made up of the International Underwriting Association (IUA), the London and International Insurance Brokers Association (LIIBA), the Lloyd's Market Association (LMA) and the Corporation of Lloyd's.
(b) There are two key principles at the heart of the LM TOM:
  • One touch data capture, in a common, global digital format, whereby data is entered only once, on behalf of all carriers and brokers, reducing risk of error and costly re-entry in multiple formats
  • Centralised administration and non-competitive services, allowing insurers and brokers to concentrate on their key business objectives
The Role
The purpose of this role is to support the Programme Director and project manage the Claims/DLT work plan which, in its current phase, involves scoping of prototypes, engagement with vendors, selection and management of vendor(s), customer, stakeholder and sponsor management and production of recommendations for next phases.
What Will You Do?
  • Production and management of project plans, including internal team resource management and project budget
  • Management of multiple vendors, with diplomacy and tact
  • Ensuring documentation and products from the LMTOM project team are of highest standards
  • Monitoring of planned outcomes and ensuring project schedule is maintained
  • Creating presentations and presenting to promote the Claims/DLT Programme and specific projects and objectives within it
  • Production of status reports, Board packs, management information to the PMO
  • Acting as a focal point for suppliers regarding engagement process
  • Acting as a focal point for Market Associations and customer representatives, to understand progress and implications on their systems and processes
  • Providing leadership and support to colleagues acting in business analyst/SME, design and testing roles, to ensure the project progresses in the most efficient manner.
  • Oversight of the production of material to support Market meetings where business designs/prototypes are validated, ensuring quality inputs to and outputs from sessions,
  • Oversight of production of proposal/recommendation papers based on findings/results.
  • Production/assistance with Business Case(s) inputs/preparation.
  • Relationship management of Corporation stakeholders
  • Relationship management of Association stakeholders at working groups and at Steering Committee
  • Attendance at Business Design and Technical Design meetings with suppliers, representing the interests of the Market Programme Team and securing customer/Association input where required.
  • Co-ordinating sign off of Business Requirements/Business Proposals
  • Oversight of MAT to ensure key features of business/system processes are tested and adequate customer participation achieved
What You'll Need
Particular knowledge/experience required:
  • Project management of complex, multiple stakeholder projects
  • Processes covering claims agreement, accounting & settlement, Lloyd's reporting
  • Distributed Ledger/Blockchain Technology
  • Data standards (ACORD) and data usage across the London insurance market
  • Current London Insurance Market bureau services
  • LMTOM proposals, including Blueprint, and previous Market Reform initiatives
  • Project management qualifications, prototype developments, Agile methodology

  • An understanding of IUA, Lloyd's and the London insurance market, its goals and reform strategies.
  • Strong understanding of insurance and the London Market.
  • Previous exposure in London Market reform programmes
  • Experience in working as a project lead or project manager and/or working with teams on a large programme.
  • Experience in providing proposals and recommendations.
  • Excellent stakeholder management - dealing with and influencing stakeholders of all levels.
  • Experience of different project management techniques.
  • Experience in working as lead or project manager on a large programme.
