Job Introduction An opportunity has arisen for a Senior Specialist in Networking to join a rapidly expanding Network team based in Hatfield. The successful candidate will need to have proven all round technical understanding of network technologies with excellent communication skills, working with internal and external customers. You will need excellent knowledge and experience of Cisco routing and switching as well as a good understanding network security and of IT infrastructure in general. As a member of the team you will be required to support our growing network and customer base in the UK and across the rest of the world. The role will focus on provisioning highly technical network and security solutions to deliver customer demands and projects in a timely and professional manner. There will be an opportunity to expand your knowledge in other technical areas. You will also be required to provide assistance and guidance to other technical support and operational teams with occasional third line support duties
Role Responsibility Roles & Responsibilities
Understand the technical requirements of the business and develop technical solutions to support them
Design, build and implement these solutions according to requirements and customer needs.
Manage and maintain the network and firewall infrastructure across the Computacenter group
Undertake move, additions and changes to the network and firewalls under appropriate changes controls needed to make this happen
Fault Management - Assist support teams with in depth ticket and incident management
Escalations - Ensure the right technical level input is provided for all assigned escalations
Service Integration - Provide technical leadership in the implementation/take on of new customers and services
Changes - Manage and implement all Non-Standard and Standard Technical requests
Pro Active - Provide technical leadership and be proactive, identifying gaps and providing solutions that meet Computacenter and customer expectations
Work with Service Teams to provide technical pre-sales support.
Documentation - It is critical for all documentation to be kept 100% up to date.
Participate in team and sector meetings
Utilise business tool suites to manage day to day tasks
Ensure accurate completion of all projects, tasks, incidents and associated paperwork
Updating - Ensure adherence to version and document control
Reporting - achievements, milestones and assist with SLA reporting when required
Security - Adhere to customer and Computacenter Security Policies
Prepare, complete and present accurate handover documents for customers and support teams
Maintain certifications and keep up to date with technology by attending courses and constant learning
The Ideal Candidate Key Requirements
Relevant technical qualifications such as
CCNP Routing & Switching/Security with relevant experience to support LAN/WAN (essential)
Good knowledge and understanding of SD WAN (essential)
Solid understanding of Data Centre architectures, preferably Cisco ACI (desired)
Good knowledge and experience of Cisco wireless deployments (desired)
