Location: Sheffield/London/Homeworking

Contract: Permanent

Hours: Full time 37.5 hours per week/flexible days and/or hours (Mon-Fri)

Salary: Up to £50,000 p/annum depending on location and experience

As a Senior Manager in the UK Network (UKN) Central Team you will work flexibly to lead on a wide variety of exciting programmes including the collection, analysis and interpretation of intel picked up by colleagues in the UKN Field Team. Senior Managers from this Field Team are located in the English Regions and Devolved Nations and, alongside the Central Team, form the British Business Bank's (BBB) UK Network Team.

The UKN Team was established to help build the Bank's regional capability, providing BBB with detailed insights into each UK region's characteristics, challenges and priorities, from a small and medium-sized enterprises (SME) access to finance perspective. The UKN Team supports the delivery of the Bank's demand strategy working with regional organisations to help ensure that SMEs across the UK understand their finance options and know how to access sources of investment.

Reporting to the Strategy Director, UKN Central Team, you will:
  • Work collaboratively with the Field Team to gather and analyse intel on access to finance
  • Develop and maintain excellent working relationships with internal stakeholders including our Policy and Strategy teams
  • Act as an 'anchor point' for the Field Team and disperse regular briefings and updates
  • Spot opportunities where BBB could potentially add value, shape or influence the SME eco-system; and
  • Develop strategic relationships with external stakeholders including Whitehall.

  • We are looking for someone committed to supporting SMEs. You will have project and programme management skills and be well versed with providing high quality reports. You should have experience of policy making and influencing in the public sector and it is essential that you are able to analyse large and diverse data sets. Any knowledge of SMEs is desirable, in addition to experience of the role and function of partnership working arrangements in the public sector, for example Mayor Combined Authorities in England.
