This Senior Manager post sits within our newly formed Financial Crime Risk division. This division will consider issues across the British Business Bank (BBB) but with an immediate focus on our COVID loan schemes. Launched in 2020, the COVID loan schemes provide financial support to businesses across the UK that are losing revenue, and seeing their cashflow disrupted, as a result of the COVID-19 outbreak. The Bounce Back Loan Scheme (BBLS) is most recognised but is part of a wider package of government support for UK businesses including the Coronavirus Business Interruption Loan Scheme (CBILS), the Coronavirus Large Business Interruption Loan Scheme (CLBILS) and the Future Fund.
Reporting to the Director Financial Crime Risk, you will lead a team who provide support and guidance to Delivery Partners and oversee performance of the BBB portfolio, with a specific focus of potential fraud relating to our COVID schemes. You will provide clarity on scheme rules where appropriate and work with lenders to guide the design and implementation of their fraud management processes. The Financial Crime Risk team will also provide operational support to the schemes, offering advice on checks, verification, and assurance. The Bank operates with three lines of defence and this is a first line role.
It is essential that you have substantial experience in managing risk operations and compliance processes, ideally within a financial services environment. You will have significant experience adhering to strict governance processes and will have knowledge of Experian systems such as BWA, Authenticate or Detect. It would also be desirable that you have experience working with CIFAS or a similar industry fraud prevention body.
You will be collaborative, celebrate differences and inspire a culture of inclusion. You will have excellent communication skills and you will be confident in building and maintaining key stakeholder relationships. As a Senior Manager at the Bank it is expected that you will role model candour and integrity, you will support the wellbeing of colleagues, encourage diversity of thought, and strive for continuous improvement.
