Network Rail High Speed (NR HS) is a wholly owned subsidiary of NetworkRail Infrastructure Ltd (NRIL), responsible for the operation and maintenanceof the UKs first European High Speed Railway, High Speed 1 (HS1).

The HS1 Infrastructure consists of a diverse range of railway assetsfrom the track, signalling, overhead line, lineside buildings and depotsthrough to viaducts, long tunnels and international stations at St Pancras,Ebbsfleet and Stratford along its 109km length.
Unlike its parent, NR HS areprivately financed under an agreement with their client HS1 Ltd and undertakea diverse range of activities from railway infrastructure maintenance andoperations through to station facilities management and retail. NR (HS) valuetheir people, fulfilling their contractual commitments through a highlyperforming professional team of appointed specialists, engineers and managerswho consistently deliver safe and reliable infrastructure for train operatorsand their passengers.

Provide specialist fire safety advice and support to theDelivery, Engineering, Safety and Station functions within Network Rail (HighSpeed). Develop and assist in thedelivery of effective and efficient arrangements that comply with relevantlegislation, protect the companys assets and minimise the impacts of fire onthe companys undertakings. About the role (External) Key Accountabilities
Developand produce policy, fire risk control arrangements (including standards,procedures and codes of practice) and fire safety training requirements.
Undertakefire safety inspection and risk assessment of the property portfolio andNetwork Rail controlled infrastructure.
Identifyand develop appropriate engineering controls for reducing the risk of fires.
Provide designadvice and technical review for proposed alterations to the property portfolioand Network Rail controlled infrastructure.
Reviewfire safety aspects of the ROGS applications of train operating companies.
Provideeffective fire safety advice and support to Network Rail line management.
Undertakeregular liaison arrangements with local rail industry managers and staff andofficers of the Fire Authorities, the safety regulator and other relevant bodiesto safeguard Network Rails interests, with regard to fire safety.
Directthe investigation of significant fires affecting the property portfolio orNetwork Rail controlled Infrastructure.
Member of the Institution of FireEngineers
Degree or equivalent qualification in fire engineering Significant experiencein fire safety at a management level

- Provide eligibility to work in the UK and identity documentation
- Complete a satisfactory 3 year employment history check
- Complete a satisfactory unspent criminal conviction disclosure check

Salary range 51,156 - 57,551 dependent on experience, plus London weighting.
