The successful person will be responsible for:

• Coaching and leading teams in Agile and Lean practices. Is a recognised expert that advocates these approaches, continuously reflecting and challenging the team. Creates or tailors new ways of working and is always innovating. (DDAT skill: Agile and Lean Practices: level Expert)
• Mediating and mending relationships, communicating with stakeholders at all levels. Able to manage stakeholders' expectations and facilitate discussions across high risk and complexity or under constrained timescales. Able to speak and represent the community to large audiences inside and outside of government. (DDAT Skill: Communicating between the technical and non-technical; level Expert)
• Optimising the delivery flow of teams. Able to actively address the most complicated risks, issues and dependencies including where ownership exists outside the team or no clear ownership exists. Able to identify innovative ways to unblock issues. (DDAT Skill Maintaining delivery momentum; level Expert)
• Identifying and challenging organisational processes of increasing complexity and those processes that are unnecessarily complicated. Able to add value and can coach the organisation to inspect and adapt processes.Guides teams through the implementation of a new process (DDAT Skill: Making the Process Work; level, expert)
• Leading and delivering projects through the continual GDS Delivery process in a very complex environment. Able to plan beyond product delivery. Able to identify dependencies in plans across services and coordinate delivery. Coaches other teams as the central point of expertise (DDAT skill: Planning; Level, Expert)

In order to complete the responsibilities of this role the successful candidate will have:

• Formal training in AGILE ways of working; and experience of using these to support the delivery of change
• Formal training in Coaching, and has used this coaching to contribute to the development of more junior members of the team, using a defined career pathway
• Planned the Delivery of team meetings, ensuing a mix of Outcome Based, Wellbeing, and Development Activities
• Experience of delivering projects that meet the GDS Service Standard and Technology Code of Practice.
• Experience of delivering projects through the GDS Delivery Phases (Discovery, Alpha, Beta, Live)
