Role summary

A fantastic opportunity has arisen for an experienced Senior Commercial Officer to join the one of the UK's leading suppliers of Cyber Security Products & Services. This exciting position is key to ensuring our customer receives maximum value from their IT & Telecoms suppliers.

This role can be based from London (SW1A 2AH) or Milton Keynes (MK19 7BH), with some travel required.

What you'll be doing

Your role is to take the lead in ensuring suppliers perform against contractual obligations and deliver to SLA's. This will see you working in partnership with our customer and suppliers to deliver a service that assists in ensuring maximum value for every penny spent. Conducting supplier reviews and assisting in new contract / contract renewal negotiations will come easily to you as you will have previous experience within a similar role.

The focus of your role will be to facilitate the transaction of good business throughout the full sales lifecycle - from sales through to the conclusion of contract delivery. You can have the opportunity to lead proposals, contracts and changes, acting at the forefront of customer discussion and owning the management of contractual matters. Collaborating with a Commercial Manager you will be able to participate in more complex opportunities, helping to shape the agreements we negotiate, influence the price build-up and then see through the execution of commercial planning. This particular role will be based in a central government department, managing key suppliers to achieve service levels that affect worldwide operations.

Throughout the opportunities you work on, you will occupy a central position co-ordinating and connecting know-how and proactively engaging other disciplines within our organisation to influence and achieve the best results, working with customers and a wide range of internal stakeholders across Client Account Management, Bid Service, Commercial, Legal and Project-specific teams.

What we're looking for

  • Knowledge of legal issues, standard IP issues, profitability requirements, contract structure, terms and conditions, sub-contract considerations, funding and payment plans
  • Ability to identify commercial risks and opportunities, and ability to devise mitigations
  • Ability to adapt standard agreements
  • Knowledge of varied types of contracts
  • Ability to forge good working relationships with peers and other colleagues
  • Knowledge of different cultural environments is desirable
