Brief Description

Lead a team of Engineers and Assistant Engineers in the undertaking of engineering and technical processes for Asset Evaluation on structural condition, capability, value, sustainability and delivery of route, regulatory and corporate targets. Provide structural engineering expertise to the department and to Network Rail. Direct the provision of engineering support within the route and manage the interface with operational notices and the network change process.

About the role (External)

It is imperative you have

Bachelors degree in civil/structural engineering (BSc/BEng)

Chartered engineer (CEng) or within 12 months (experiential learning / career appraisal supported)

Membership of institution of civil engineers

Engineering/business management experience (including assurance/compliance management)

Team leadership/management experience (including technical competency management)

Continuous improvement leadership skills and experience

A detailed understanding of the management of structural assets

Substantial experience of undertaking qualitative assessments of structures assets

Experience of building and managing future capex workbanks

Substantial technical data management/assurance/compliance experience

Extensive knowledge/understanding of relevant technical, safety and performance standards

Holds valid UK driving licence, or eligible and willing to obtain

It is advantageous if you have

Masters degree in in civil/structural engineering (MSc/MEng)

Fellow of institution of civil engineers

Chartered manager (CMgr)

Understanding and experience of railway infrastructure maintenance

Data analytical skills

ISO 550001 certificate/diploma
