Role purpose

The role develops, implements and leads the Sales strategy and execution for the Strategic Alliance Carrier team, and is responsible for the development of commercial strategy, relationships with key customers and ongoing development of the team members.

To achieve and exceed booking and revenue targets by successfully executing a focused go to market strategy that addresses critical segments of the industry including: Global and Regional Carriers; MSP's; UC players and Data Centre providers to drive maximum market share.

Key accountabilities

  • Exceeding sales bookings and revenue targets
  • Driving sales performance through the effective leadership of the team.
  • Achievement of account retention and churn goals.
  • Deliver new business acquisition and existing business growth
  • Coaching and managing the team to be effective and productive.
  • Creates mindset that drives engagement
  • Ensure the highest standard in sales disciplines are adopted across the team, including forecast accuracy, pipeline management, account development plans
  • Professional manner and conduct with proven experience in communicating with C-Level executives in large, complex organizations
  • Sets ambitious targets and drives continued profitable growth.

  • High revenue and bookings Growth.
  • Increase in average value per deal.
  • Sales Team performance (inc productivity per Head, capability, retention and engagement).
  • International Collaboration across broader sales team

  • Customer Experience - Net Promotor Score.
  • Accurate business forecasting
  • Execution of sales plan according to KPIs and MBOs
  • Low attrition rate


Relationships and key contacts
  • Customer connected, maintain key relationships and account sponsorship.
  • Colt SMT relationships to influence development of systems, processes and tools to deliver a World Class Sales organization.
  • Champions the needs of the sales community, customers and partners across the organization


Role specific requirements

Skills & Experience
  • In depth knowledge and experience of the Telecom/DC market.
  • Good understanding of the Wholesale market and experience of engaging at Exec level with large wholesale customers globally.
  • Proven and consistent track record of delivering significant revenue growth
  • Experience of sales strategy development and implementation.
  • Demonstratable experience in driving uplift in performance.
  • Strategic mindset and a strong operational focus.
  • Existing personal network with C-Level contacts.
  • Pipeline and Forecast-management methodology.
  • Excellent influence and communication skills.
  • Good planning, organisational and time management skills.
  • Results oriented with high commitment, resilience and a positive attitude.
