The Risk Manager is responsible for supporting the UK Risk Director and broader ERM leadership in embedding the risk management practices across WTW within emphasis within the UK firms, working closely with senior management in lines of business and corporate functions.
Part of the wider Enterprise Risk Management Function, reporting to the UK Risk Director, the Risk Manager will be responsible for the delivery of all key risk management activities within the annual risk plan as well as providing support to the UK Risk Director in the assessment of strategic initiatives and new products.
Produce relevant risk reporting and risk dashboards on a regular basis
Monitor risk appetite and risk metrics regularly
Manage the regular Risk and Control Assessment process working with the lines of business and corporate functions Risk Coordinators
Review and challenge key controls self-assessment performed by the business and conduct independent assessment of evidential documentation available to support the assessment of the control
Coordinate the Condition 2.4 reporting process, working with all relevant areas of the business, in particular Finance and Actuarial
Conduct risk assessments of new products and/or initiatives, working with the business and other control functions such as Compliance and Legal
Support the quarterly Emerging risk process -workshop and report
Support risk deep dives as required
Draft risk papers for inclusion in formal Committees / Board
Support the design and delivery of risk training to the business
Represent the Risk Function at relevant governance forums.
Educated to degree level or equivalent and with a relevant professional qualification - Associate of the Institute of Chartered Accountants (ACA) or equivalent or Associate of the Institute of Insurance (ACII) or IRM Diploma in Risk Management
ERM experience, working in a similar position within complex organizations in a regulated environment, (preferably the insurance sector)
Excellent knowledge of ERM and demonstrated ability to apply ERM principles and practices in a proportionate way
Strong understanding of regulation and corporate governance
Team player, excellent interpersonal and influencing skills
Good problem-solving skills
