Job description

In this key role, you will be part of the UK&I Resource Management Team which is recognised as an integral enabler to the growth of business. The team are in office across the Island of Ireland and you will be a contributing and valued member of this team.

The opportunity

The successful candidate will work with the Resource Manager to support all resourcing activity within the EY Belfast Assurance Audit Core and BDC teams, working to achieve business performance goals whilst balancing client requirements, individual career aspirations and utilisation targets within the teams. As well as being responsible for traditional resourcing activities, the successful candidate will also be required to work with the Resource Manager to expand the scope of their responsibilities to include detailed forecasting, continuous improvement and identification of cross service line working opportunities.


Your key responsibilities

Drive and manage resourcing performance

  • Analyse and take actions on resourcing performance linking in with the Resource Deployment Manager
  • Weekly review of prior week performance versus plan/forecast
  • Champion Retain accuracy and delegation to offshore team
  • Oversight of non-chargeable activity e.g. holiday approval
  • Action non-chargeable insights and highlighting areas of concern to Resource Deployment Manager

    Manage demand and supply
  • Ensure optimal demand and supply management of resources
  • Manage shortages and complexities from demand requests
  • Source wider resourcing solutions to address shortages or available capacity
  • Manage day to day resourcing escalations and issues
  • Influence onshore and offshoring resource solutions to engagement teams
  • Regular review of resource allocation
  • Ensure client teams are backfilled when faced with a leaver
  • Identify 'hot spots' where the business has an over or under supply of resources and take actions to address
  • Work with the Resource Deployment Manager/client Executives on key accounts to understand future resourcing requirements

    Deliver Experience Management

  • Understand resource development need and facilitate this learning via the correct client allocation
  • Ensuring new joiners are allocated onto chargeable work
  • Provide a Resource Management induction to all client facing new joiners

    Create an Exceptional Team
  • Participate in Resource Management team meetings, performance development requirements and training to develop the function

  • Participate in Resourcing team projects

  • Ability to think quickly, work under pressure to meet competing demands
  • Confident and resilient to deal with challenges from people within the business
  • Strong stakeholder management capability to effectively influence individuals at Manager, Sr Manager and Partner level on resourcing issues
  • Exercises good judgement, know when to flag issues and when to deal with independently
