Job Purpose and Scope:

The Recruitment & Retention Manager will work as part of the Recruitment and Retention team and be responsible for the journey of candidates from pre-employment to sustained employee.They will work with a network of providers to identify a wide range of candidates seeking to make a difference in their lives by way of employment opportunities.

Generic Accountabilities:
  • To work as part of the Recruitment and Retention Team, reporting to the Head of Recruitment & Retention.
  • Support potential BeOnsite beneficiaries to access information/selection events, manual handling and Choices pre-employment training. Referring candidates onto other appropriate training courses where necessary.
  • Presenting IAG & Training modules to candidates via virtual or face to face engagement.
  • Work to deliver employment outcomes on externally funded projects including Kickstart.
  • Responsible for arranging, coordinating, and delivering all BeOnsite Information/Selection Events with the support of the Head of Recruitment & Retention.
  • Build and maintain good working relationships with partner agencies including London Probation, JCP, local Borough referrers and third sector agencies for the support of individuals i.e. housing specialists, mental health organisations, employment and training agencies.
  • Liaise with BeOnsite Reporting Manager and other externally funded projects for information and reporting purposes.
  • Depending on candidate vulnerabilities, design action plan for support & signpost where appropriate.
  • Advise on benefits/budgeting and work preparation liaising with the Head of Recruitment and Retention to ensure all vulnerabilities are identified and seamless support is provided.
  • Where appropriate liaise with HMP & other partners to attract ex-offender candidates providing robust pre-employment support to prepare them to successfully access BeOnsite opportunities.
  • Network with local referrers to ensure they understand and follow the BeOnsite referral process ensuring they understand our requirements and caveats.
  • Provide feedback to referral partners regarding the candidates they refer.
  • Attend and manage employment events at JCP for DWP Kickstart project.
  • Support BeOnsite beneficiaries to access and secure job opportunities on Lendlease developments and the wider Lendlease supply chain to sustain their job by building a trusting confidential relationship, guiding, and advising through their employment journey.
  • Work closely with referral partners to identify work ready candidates and support through the assessment and selection process.
  • Liaise with a range of training providers for pre-employment and post-employment training opportunities for BeOnsite beneficiaries.
  • Liaise closely with host business supervisors and managers to be alerted to emerging issues with BeOnsite employees and reacting in timely manner to resolve.
  • Manage conflict resolution and refer to Head of Recruitment & Retention for HR and disciplinary issues.
  • Ensure clear boundaries when engaging with BeOnsite candidates, employees, and referral partners.
  • Assess candidates with in a proactive holistic approach using in-depth interview technique.
  • Challenge candidates with empathy and sensitivity (investigative assessment).
  • Network with contractor at site level & build good working relationships with supervisors to understand their needs to enable excellent job matching and sustained opportunities.
  • Attend and contribute to monthly meetings with Recruitment & Retention team and provide weekly reports/updates to Head of Recruitment & Retention.
  • Ensure all registration forms are complete and updated with relevant information to support job matching.
  • Ensure CVs are up to date and appropriate and relevant information on background, skills, experience and development needs for each candidate.
  • Ensure all relevant documents are accurately uploaded to the BeOnsite database in a timely manner.
  • Check ID & Right to Work in UK liaising with BeOnsite Payroll.
  • Keep all paperwork up to date and follow stringent GDPR requirements under the guidance of the Data Compliance, Tracking & Payroll Manager.
  • Ability to communicate on all levels and integrate into corporate settings when required.

Additional Information:

Part of this role involves attracting candidates to attend the BeOnsite selection and training process.They will provide a seamless supported journey for both the candidate and host company to achieve excellent job matching and sustained opportunities.

The Recruitment and Retention Manager will guide each candidate through the selection and training process, working with local training centres when identifying further training needs including accredited and non-accredited industry related training. They will assess candidates and work with the recruitment team to job match BeOnsite beneficiaries to BeOnsite jobs and then will be wholly responsible for supporting them through to sustainment of job. The role will be based in Southwark but will cover more than one Lendlease development across London and possibly further afield. The role will work closely with the Head of Recruitment & Retention, Payroll Manager and Kickstart Project Manager. A key element of the role will be to create and develop relationships with BeOnsite candidates, developing a solid understanding of their hopes and aspirations to match them into the 'right' job and support post-employment for successful job sustainment including identifying further training opportunities. Accurate and timely reporting on candidates is an essential element of this role. The role holder will also be responsible for weekly one-to-one advice and guidance sessions with some employees in line with specific BeOnsite programmes.
