Amazon is seeking an intuitive, high-judgment, and self-motivated professional to join our Transportation Operations Management (TOM) team. This individual will cover the communications strategy as well as be responsible for engagement activities and projects. The position will provide support for TOM associates and managers through clear, factual communications and will lead strategic communication counsel to cross-functional partners on a wide range of complex topics as well as taking care of engagement projects.
As a Project Manager, you will drive strategy for the business-specific editorial calendar; TOM highlights; execute on strategic employee communications, programs, and experiences across the business. You will also project manage the initiatives and events focused on boosting the engagement. The ideal candidate will insist on the highest standards, dive deep into details, have a strong bias for action and sense of ownership, distill information to find common threads between projects, and be energized by juggling priorities. Ability to be a good networker and collaborator with different partners will be the key. You will operate in fast-moving situations, embrace ambiguity and changing tides, be able to quickly get up to speed on complex issues and connect different content into one story.
Core Job Responsibilities • Develop innovative internal communications strategies, clear narratives and tactics that engage Amazon's frontline employee base within TOM, including CDL drivers; • Deliver strategic campaigns in partnership with the Campaigns team; • Lead the development and execution of internal communication plans for new programs, policies, and changes; • Look around corners to spot emerging topics and develop proactive plans to communicate with stakeholders; • Earn trust, provide sound counsel and effectively communicate with a wide range of internal stakeholders; • Think and communicate clearly - formulate a clear point of view on complicated issues and create a concise and well-written narrative to express it; • Build stakeholder relationships across a range of businesses to establish a news agenda relevant to TOM, and provide high level counsel for executive communications and reactive messaging; • Act as Project manager for the engagement projects and initiatives and event organization • Raise the bar on the team through passion for internal communications, willingness to take risk, boost the engagement; • Roll up sleeves and get work done, even when at times it's outside the scope of the job;
• Bachelor's degree • 3+ years of public relations or communications experience or event management, business writing with a logistics/transportation company • Experience building robust communications programs and delivering results • Excellent writing and verbal communication skills are a must, with the ability to think and communicate clearly, formulate a clear point of view on complicated issues, and create a concise and well-written narrative • Engagement campaigns and projects experience • Good collaboration skillset
