Job description

Background and Job Responsibilities:

Reporting to the GSPM Programme Director, this role supports both the GSPM team vision; to drive and support the growth of the Experian Decision Analytics business and the GSPM Enablement team vision; to significantly improve internal tooling and processes to make the GSPM team more productive and efficient, driving the increase in new contract value across our product portfolio.

The Senior Product Management Specialist supports the efficient running of a global product management team by influencing, driving and supporting the adoption of tooling and the use of our requirements management "system of record". Evangelising the GSPM team and the product portfolio that it manages by championing and driving our internal web presence and GSPM team communications is a key driver. This role also covers the management of the GSPM teams licensing function, knowledge management and coordination.

Please Note: This role may include managing a direct report - Product Management Specialist. The responsibility percentage will change accordingly.

Job Responsibilities:
Global Software Product Management; Programme Director and Team support (30%)

• Support the programme director and exec in co-ordinating and managing key governance functions, including: steerco packs, senior leadership quarterly meetings, GBL packs, half yearly all-hands meetings, monthly portfolio alignments meetings, quarterly global and regions sales enablement and alignment meetings and key Agile ceremonies
• Support the programme director to work with key stakeholders and interacting functions across the business to leverage best practice.
• Support the programme director in setting up and running key workshops and meetings throughout the year
• Support the programme director and finance lead with monthly earned value management reporting
• Support the programme director in running the GTM process for GSPM
• Help guide the roadmap vision for process improvements, process design & implementation, along with the provision of proactive and sustained best practice guidance and support across all DA software products. To include management of the functions responsible for the curation & maintenance of clear and concise process documentation.
• Ownership across all GSPM processes & the GSPM process stages where a process sits across other key teams within GDA (e.g. Integrated Development Process).
• Proactively collaborate with key stakeholders and interacting functions across the business to leverage innovation, ideation, best practice; building relationships to gain willingness and buy-in from those interacting functions and individuals to support proposed changes (e.g. product management interaction with the regional product management teams)
• Champion the use of current processes & best practice across GDA (e.g. Go to market process).
• Help to oversee regular process adherence monitoring and the provision of retrospective recommendations to senior leadership and key stakeholders (e.g. Go to Market retrospective). Ensure compliance with approved processes across GDA.

Global Software Product Management Process Management and Improvement (25%)

• Support the programme manager and process improvement specialist to work with key stakeholders and interacting functions (e.g. delivery, GSG) across the business to leverage best practice.
• Building relationships to gain willingness and buy-in from those within the Global Software Product Management team and all interacting functions and individuals to support proposed changes (e.g. product management interactions within the end to end SDLC).
• Supporting the use of current processes & best practice (e.g. Go to market process).
• Working with the process improvement specialist, initiate the identification, design and execution of action plans to implement process improvements and define new standard processes
• Identification of pain points, carrying out root cause analysis and identifying solutions.
• Provide project management to oversee the implementation of new processes
• Develop best practise and process documentation providing clear and concise guidance in support of new & existing processes within the Global Software Product Management team along with key interacting functions.
• Monitor and report regularly upon process adherence, providing retrospective recommendations to senior leadership and key stakeholders.
• Manage and own the consolidated pipeline reporting dashboard & its use specifically within the Global Software Product Management team.
• Global Software Product Management Key Team Tooling (15%)

Improvements
• Lead, drive and support the GSPM Enablement Team vision from a tooling perspective; to significantly improve internal tooling and processes to make the GSPM team more productive and efficient to aid the increase in new contract value across our product portfolio.
• Lead, drive and support tooling improvements, design, implementation and the provision of proactive and sustained best practice guidance and support across all DA software products in full alignment with process. To include the provision of clear and concise tooling documentation. (e.g. product management interaction with the SDLC).
• Proactively collaborate with key stakeholders and interacting functions across the business to leverage best practice, building relationships to gain willingness and buy-in from those interacting functions and individuals to support proposed changes to tools used or the use of current tooling (e.g. product management interaction with the regional product management teams, global and regional delivery teams, global and regional development teams and global marketing teams).
• Ensure always, that any use of current or new tooling helps support the flow of approved processes.

Day to Day Management
• Lead and support the global adoption of our requirements management system of record (currently JIRA). To include configuration, population, synchronisation mapping, licensing, reporting, continued alignment with process, marketing of and user training.
• Support the management of the consolidated pipeline reporting dashboard and its use specifically within the Global Software Product Management team (currently hosted within Salesforce).
• Support the management of the team tooling infrastructure (e.g. dedicated server).

License and Client Database Management (5%)

• From a GSPM perspective, drive and support continual improvements of the tooling utilised to provide Global Client Data (currently ServiceNow). To include configuration specifications, population, reporting and GSPM user training.
• Drive the development of a standardised approach to the licensing process/function for 3rd party partners (Microfocus/MicroStrategy).
• Provide quarterly 3rd party licensing reporting to the Global Finance Team and 3rd party.

Internal Web Presence (5%)

• Develop the team vision and standard approach for all aspects of the team's online presence.
• Drive, execute and support continual improvement of the Global Software Product Management team's internal web presence; namely: The Global Software Product Management Zoom site.

GSPM Team Communications (5%)

• Editor responsibility for the quarterly GSPM team newsletter. To include coordination of knowledge sharing items and the publication to our key stakeholder groups.
• Editor responsibility for the quarterly GSPM Enablement team newsletter. To include coordination of knowledge sharing items and the publication to our GSPM team.

Personal Development (5%)

• Improve personal and professional competencies and technical skills through continual learning:
• In consultation with line manager, action agreed personal development plans.
• Seek and provide feedback as part of the feedback process.

GSPM Team Knowledge Management and Support (5%)

• As a knowledge manage champion, actively seek to share knowledge and drive others to do so within the team.

GSPM Team Co-ordination (5%)

• Support the wider Global Software Product Management Team with events and training coordination.
• Key contact and co-ordinator for the UK Business Continuity Plan for the Global Software Product Management Team (UK colleague base).

Candidate Profile, Knowledge and Experience

Essential
• Experience (Level 3 Extensive Experience)
• Extensive experience of working within product management, project management and software development.
• Experience of working within an agile environment.
• Experience working in cross-functional environments.
• Experience of working across multiple countries and cultures, with the ability to lead and manage a small team across multiple locations.
• Technical Proficiencies (Level 3 Extensive Experience)
• Trained and experienced in the use of software applications including Outlook, One Note, Word, Visio, PowerPoint, Project and Access.
• Experience using the following tools (Inc. BI Reporting from); JIRA, Eclipse, SharePoint, Oracle, Chatter and JAMA.
• Education
• Bachelor's Degree or equivalent in Business, Technology or related field (substantial related experience will be considered as an acceptable substitute).
• Relevant business qualifications; Pragmatic Marketing Product Management Certification, Product Focus or equivalent.

Desirable
• Experience (Level 3 Extensive Experience)
• Experience of working across multiple workstreams, with the ability to lead and manage colleagues within those workstream on a particular project of work.
• Technical Proficiencies (Level 3 Extensive Experience)
• Experience using the following tools (Inc. BI Reporting from); Salesforce, Confluence, ServiceNow, Aha, Newsweaver and Poppulo.
• Experience managing, using and supporting Experian PowerCurve Software or other enterprise software products.
