Following a review of our technology developmentstrategy, we are strengthening our magnet engineering teams, and currently havean outstanding opportunity for a highly experienced Mechanical Engineer. Thesuccessful applicant will join a multi-disciplinary group in our EngineeringDepartment and will work to maintain our "state of the art" competence inmagnet design, analysis techniques and manufacturing processes.

Siemens Healthineers MR Magnet Technology is theworld's leading designer and manufacturer of superconducting magnets formagnetic resonance imaging - over a third of MRI scanners installed worldwidehave at their heart a magnet manufactured in our Eynsham factory. The businesshas been awarded several Queen's Awards for export success, two Best FactoryAwards and an IMechE Manufacturing Excellence Award, and is justifiably proudof its engineering and manufacturing heritage.

Your mission and responsibilities:

Development and deployment of technology projectswithin budget

New product development, from concept, throughdesign, to realisation

Generation of innovative design solutions

Evaluation of technical issues to provide productperformance solutions

Definition and review of, and ensuring compliancewith, technical standards

Evaluation of competitor products to supportSiemens Marketing

Mentoring of technical staff

Your qualifications and experience:

Applicants must have a good Honours degree in anengineering discipline. Demonstration ofconsiderable experience, both breadth and depth, is essential.

Broad spectrum of mechanical engineering experiencecapable of applying a flexible and creative approach to a variety ofengineering technologies.

Awareness and experience of working within thecommercial structure of a "state of the art" manufacturing environment.

Your personality and skills:

Ability to analyse complex engineering problems,from both technical and commercial viewpoints, to identify and deliverpragmatic solutions.

Proven ability for Technical Leadership

Ability to plan for and mitigate risks toacceptable levels to ensure project objectives are achieved on time.

Ability to build professional relationships andcommunicate effectively at all levels.

Awareness and consideration of interculturalsensitivities.

Particular experience working with Asian,continental European & US cultures.
