Job description

We have an opportunity within our GDS team for a Tax Manager with UK tax experience. The location of this role is flexible and can be based from our GDS offices in the UK, or in India.

The opportunity

As a Senior Tax Manager, you will be expected to lead a team of analysts, advanced analysts, senior and assistant managers. The primary responsibilities include but are not limited to engagement management, developing client relationships and motivating the team. As well as p roviding tax compliance and advisory services to a diverse range of clients, including SME'S and high net worth individuals.

Your key responsibilities
  • Sign all types of tax returns
  • Demonstrate a high level of proficiency of tax technical knowledge
  • Manage the engagement team
  • Set performance measurements and ensure that performance goals, including engagement economics, turnaround time and quality targets are met
  • Identify and champion new services that the sub-service line can perform at the GTH
  • Cross-sell extended services to clients
  • Represent the sub-service line practice to external audiences
  • Develop, mentor and supervise Analysts, Advanced Analysts, Seniors, and Assistant Managers
  • Demonstrate leadership and executive presence
  • Communicate progress and project status to all stakeholders
  • Knowledge of the firm policies related to independence, confidentiality and privacy, client acceptance and engagement letters, tax return preparer guidelines and knowledge-sharing
  • Adhere to practice protocol and other internal processes consistently

People responsibilities
  • Create and lead the highest performing teams and inspire team members
  • Lead by example and be a role model
  • Coach team members
  • Develop a flexible and adaptive management style to meet the diverse needs of our people and clients
To qualify for the role you must have
  • A Bachelor's degree in an accounting, finance or a business discipline, and a minimum of 5 years of relevant tax experience
  • A CPA UK ( Certified Public Accountants Association ) Affiliation

Skills and attributes for success
  • Experience in UK individual taxation exposure
  • Experience in SA100
Ideally, you'll also have
  • Excellent managerial, leadership, organizational, and verbal/written communication skills
  • Demonstrated skills in mentoring and training others
  • Income Tax Knowledge
  • Proficient with Analysing Spreadsheets
