Job description

The Willis Towers Watson Risk Solutions (RS) team works across multiple disciplines, various lines of business and with third-parties to help clients de-risk their pension schemes. One key strand of the Risk Solutions business is Data Solutions which supports clients in the strategic planning and implementation of data management programs that support wider business objectives.

The Role

Our data services span a range of clients with different UK pension administration systems and our solutions are either delivered within the team or across several areas of the Willis Towers Watson business including the actuarial client teams and administration teams.

As a fast-growing business, we need an experienced project manager with defined benefit pension technical expertise to help develop new service lines within our Data Solutions business, including:

  • Planning and project managing the build of a new service line
  • Managing stakeholders and reporting back to senior leadership
  • Developing new processes and managing the production of template documentation to operationalize the new service line
  • Applying commercial perspective to development of new service lines to help the business maximize profitability

The candidate will also take on a senior project manager role for pensions data rectification and administration solutions and be responsible for:

  • Providing senior project management working closely with the client, work stream leads, subject matter experts, third parties and the project team to deliver large and/or complex pensions rectification and administration projects
  • Achieve project delivery deadlines within scope and budget
  • Drive continuous improvement programs to achieve operational efficiency and effectiveness

The Requirements

The essential skills/experience for this role are:

  • Experience of managing several projects simultaneously
  • Practical experience in managing and controlling project budgets, the billing process and pricing and scoping new work
  • Practical experience and expertise delivering technical defined benefit pensions projects
  • A clear, concise and confident communicator of complex technical and project issues - covering both verbal and written communication skills
  • A firm commitment to delivering a high quality service with personal accountability
  • Inquisitive, self-starter attitude and ability to work with ambiguity
  • Ability to work both independently and on client teams and enjoy a fast-paced environment
  • Flexibility and proven ability to diagnose and resolve issues
  • Experience in leading relationships with clients, third parties, or in supplier and customer relationships, and/or stakeholder management

Other highly desirable skills/experience are:

  • Prince 2 qualified with Microsoft Project skills
  • Other pensions industry qualifications such as the Pensions Management Institute Associateship or Fellowship or FIA qualified (or equivalent)
  • Experience of managing, coaching and mentoring individual team members
  • Good Microsoft Office skills, particularly Excel and PowerPoint
  • Experience of developing a new product or service line
