Intro to the role

MG OMD are searching for a Paid Social Senior Executive to continue their career in paid social advertising. This person will find themselves working closely with the major social platforms to deliver best in class advertising campaigns for some of the UK's biggest household brands. This specific role is working in our retail & charity team and will include working across Waitrose one of our most prestigious and long-standing clients here at MG OMD.

In the Paid Social Senior Executive role you will be working as part of the Resolution Media team @ MG OMD, made up of 100+ specialists working across PPC, paid social and organic performance (SEO). Although this role is social focused there are opportunities to cross-skill across the team.

The Role

The Paid Social Senior Executive role supports the wider team in three key areas:
  • Implementation - Setting up and launching multiple social advertising campaigns at any one time, sometimes for multiple clients. You will be responsible for ensuring QA processes are followed and campaigns are closely monitored to ensure good performance.
  • Reporting - Responsible for producing detailed and high-quality reports and analysis presentations for our clients. Candidates should have the ability to spot trends & insights and deliver learnings to clients that have a real impact on the success of their business.
  • Planning - Helping produce detailed search advertising plans in excel - which can be easily understood by the client and, once signed off, are translatable to the relevant platforms. Assisting with creation of slides to accompany these plans.

In addition to these areas you will be involved in all aspects of managing a busy media account including, but not limited to, monitoring campaign performance & pacing, monthly finance reconciliations, liaising with clients and creative agencies to ensure campaigns go live on time, working with internal teams to manage ad hoc client requests etc...

Senior Executives are not directly responsible for managing more junior members of the team, however we are looking for someone who can comfortably delegate some of their workload and also help train and mentor more junior staff members as they learn about the platforms we use. Being a good team player is a must!

Senior Executives are expected to have good prior experience in the areas above but will be given all the necessary training to grow and progress at the agency with a clear focus on learning and development.

The Resolution Team

Resolution Media is MG OMD's specialist team looking after media planning and activation across paid social and paid search channels, as well as encompassing a team of organic performance experts (SEO).

You will work as part of a smaller team focused on a specific client (or group of clients) alongside Assistants, Account Executives and Directors who will support you as you learn about the role and industry. As a part of the wider Resolution team you will be part of a large community of experts who work on some of the biggest brands in the UK including John Lewis, Virgin Media, Estée Lauder Companies, Renault-Nissan, Sony Pictures. The entire team meet on a weekly basis and we encourage knowledge sharing and upskilling between team members wherever possible.

About You

Senior Executives should have good prior knowledge of running paid-advertising campaigns across a variety of social advertising platforms. These might include Facebook & Instagram, Twitter, Snapchat, Pinterest, LinkedIn, TikTok or others. Candidates are not expected to have exhaustive knowledge of every channel but a good grounding in a variety of channels is a bonus. You should be experienced in producing detailed media plans that make use of a variety of objectives and targeting types. You should also feel comfortable presenting these plans back to other members of staff and sometimes to clients. You should be able to closely monitor campaign performance and make changes to improve results where required. Experience working in a busy marketing or agency environment is preferred for this role.

You will need to be organised & methodical with a calm head under pressure. Excellent time management skills are a must as you will regularly be expected to handle multiple projects at once. You will also need to be confident working with numbers as we regularly deal with large amounts of data. Good Microsoft Excel skills are essential and a good working knowledge of PowePoint is also a plus.

As a client facing team we are looking for someone who is personable and friendly with a good client-manner. Someone who can fix problems as they arise with a smile on their face will fit in perfectly.
