Job description

The Role

The Operations & Service Lead is responsible for establishing and leading the Client Platforms Technologies & Analytics' (CPTA) Operations & Service team with the objective of managing a product focused team who over time will be responsible for all technical product environments and related service management.

Working closely with peers within the Application Engineering function the role will coordinate DevOps and Service Management to design, execute and audit consistent practices to enable CI/CD engineering and end-2-end operational product support. The role requires competence in promoting robust operation design that enables efficient continual client product delivery and support.

  • Implement and update Environment and Operational Design practices, processes and tools
  • Leading implementation and run teams tasked with building and maintaining ongoing run (including patching, change control etc) of technical environments
  • Managing DevOps and Service Management resources
  • Working closely with CPTA engineering leads and architects to ensure that applications and solutions are designed with operational state front of mind, reducing cost and risk of running in production environments
  • Ensure continuity of service, maximising uptime and managing service end-of-life
  • Oversee and report cost analysis and management information regarding our environments, ensuring remedial action plans are owned and driven-out to conclusion
  • Liaising with segment & central IT and Information Security to ensure that standards and requirements around infrastructure and policies are understood and adopted.

The Requirements

  • Experience in coordinating a globally diverse organisation to ensure delivery where not all functions report directly under their control
  • Ability to transition between operating at a strategic level to the specific detail of a technical issue or process
  • Ability to identify and drive continuous improvement
  • Working with clients when required to resolve serious issues
  • Good knowledge of cloud technologies and hosting provisions, ideally Microsoft Azure
  • Accreditation in ITIL and Azure (e.g. 70-732, AZ-100, AZ-101) advantageous.
