As a Senior Mendix Developer you will work as a senior member of the EMEA Digital IT team. You will contribute to the development of new and existing applications for all lines of business.
Based on the business cases and the business processes of the customer you will develop use cases from the requirements and model these into high quality applications together with a small team based on the domain model.
You will develop workflows, integrations with web services and layout the user interface. You communicate progress with the customer, run show and tells, run workshops, and drive stakeholder management.
You will be able to work independently with minimum supervision, and with others under your direction, both within the Ignite Core team and other Ignite development teams globally, governing and guiding their effort to ensure a timely and quality deliverable. You will engage and direct the work where applicable of other IT and business teams within Chubb, including those at the Global Development Centre, building an effective peer network and relationships to ensure a smooth and co-operative outcome on joint resourced initiatives.
You will exercise a senior role with the Ignite (Mendix) Core team, and be familiar with and able to explain the Core team's objectives aligned to the strategic roadmap for Ignite, and to explain architectural considerations and principles to technical and business stakeholders, ensuring that all work undertaken by yourself and by others under your direction adheres to and progresses the roadmap and underlying principles.
As a senior your work responsibilities will include the scoping, outline design, effort estimation, development, quality assurance and release management & change control activities associated with project delivery across the full SDLC. You will be highly accountable for quality and on-time delivery, and be able to lead by example setting a culture of accountability within the team.
You will be able to prioritise between competing tasks, with a focus where necessary on ensuring SLA's are met across production systems, and will escalate issues timely to the management team as appropriate.

• A thorough understanding of the software development life cycle, including but not limited to customer requirements gathering, data modelling, application analysis, development, testing, documentation, system acceptance and post migration validation.
• Experience in the design and programming of software from its inception, including UI design

• Excellent verbal and written communication skills, being structured and accurate, and have the ability to interact professionally with a diverse group of executives, managers and subject matter experts

• Positive attitude and be willing to make extra effort required to ensure that the Company delivers and maintains its reputation
