Job description

In a nutshell
As a Marketing Effectiveness Manager for Virgin Atlantic, your main goal will be to ensure that we deliver "the best bang for our buck" in every channel. You will review all new work requests acting as the gatekeeper to the other business units. You will be responsible for forecasting the potential ROI on our marketing activity and priority ranking requests made by our stakeholders.

You'll also be undertaking post-activity evaluation to ensure that it achieves the target KPI's and contributes to the commercial and revenue objectives of the wider Marketing team. Working closely with the Virgin Holidays Marketing Effectiveness Manager, your will share best practice and learning, thus helping to embed an effective cycle of insight-led planning, forecasting, measurement and evaluation.

Day to day
With your specialist knowledge, you will influence upwards and build collaborative relationships with colleagues across a broad range of non-Marketing disciplines; helping to educate them around the key levers to drive commercial/brand metrics.

You'll contribute to the development of the analytical skills of key Managers and Executives (across the whole Marketing team), to help them frame insight-led strategies which drive long-term brand health and substantive commercial goals.

Developing and launching an enhanced marketing effectiveness programme to measure total marketing output, ranging from large and infrequent modelling pieces such as econometrics modelling, to strategic, partnership and tactical campaigns to surfacing results from always-on channel results such as PPC and affiliates.

Leading accurate critical metric setting and tracking for all marketing activities ranging from sales, quotes / enquiries, consumer interactions (clicks, views, sentiment) to brand metrics.

Devising methods to analyse and inform all activities whose effectiveness is unknown or not yet measured. You will also ensure that reporting on marketing activities is timely and accurate and that results are widely available across the business.

As part of business transformation, you will build capability and understanding across the business on marketing effectiveness, balancing short-term trading requirements and long-term brand health.

You'll drive a deep change in culture and behaviour applying marketing effectiveness principles to every investment decision.

Being advisory support in business and marketing planning cycles during business and planning cycles to influence prioritisation of budgets and resource.

Helping to set the marketing calendar with a strong focus on optimal effectiveness, balancing short term and long-term marketing and business needs.

About you
Are you an innovative problem solver with entrepreneurial flair underpinned by sharp commercial acumen? Do you have a proven track record in leading marketing effectiveness (across short/long-term) and driving business change? Do you relish a challenge and take accountability for driving best performance?

We are looking for someone who has or has the propensity to build a strong understanding of the media landscape (in particular econometrics) and digital marketing, preferably obtained whilst working for a leading consumer brand. You'll be BA/BS degree educated or equivalent (maths/economics or science preferred) and have demonstrable experience and ability to articulate complex data problems into digestible business insights and strategy.

You will also be able to drive momentum in the marketing teams, informing and challenging teams and peers in the right way and influence upwards to drive positive change and behaviour across the business. If you are up for this amazing opportunity then we would love to hear from you.
