Role Purpose:
To provide operational/technical support to the Chubb Marine Recoveries Team located in London, presently consisting of 3 senior recovery adjusters with a view to supporting the operational efficiency. Conforming with Chubb compliance and regulatory requirements while handling a portfolio of marine subrogation recovery work.
Handling/management of own portfolio of subrogation recovery claims for Chubb Europe and other Chubb regional entities
Effective communication/negotiation with third parties in order to maximize recovery results.
Efficient use of all Chubb systems ensuring all recovery information is readily available to other members of the Recoveries Team, Management and Referring Claim Office.
Maintain effective liaison with Claims staff, Underwriters and Finance.
Where necessary, assist in helping with the collation of recovery data.
Managing a recovery portfolio for claims up to the value of USD100,000.00.
To assist in ensuring that the Recoveries Team operates in the desired control environment. Participate in the testing and review of the current control environment and providing recommendations where necessary.
Experience & Qualifications Required:
Minimum 5 years Marine claims/recovery experience.
Experienced technical knowledge of Marine and Transportation contracts, law and conventions pertaining to CMR, BIFA, RHA, Hague/Hague Visby Rules/US COGSA, Bills of lading/ Charterparties, Warsaw/Hague Protocol/ Montreal Protocol Conventions
Good negotiation skills. Language skills would be an asset
Proven track record as a Marine Recoveries Adjuster with minimum 5 years' experience. Good literacy and numeracy skills. ACII qualified or degree level educated. Language skills.
Ability to calculate claims for 3rd parties accurately
Ability to negotiate with adversaries at correct level.
Ability to understand and prepare management information
Ability to develop professional relationships with internal and external vendors based on quality service standards.
Ability to respond to internal contacts and outside vendors' enquires and to address these sources in a professional and efficient manner.
Ability to explain complex topics in a clear and concise way.
